  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and optional profile details (education level, field of study, institution, date of birth).
  • Study Content: Text you enter to create study sets is sent to our AI service to generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and study plans.
  • Chat Messages: Messages you send to the AI tutor are stored locally and sent to our AI provider for processing.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device model, Android version, app version, screen dimensions, locale, and timezone (for compatibility and analytics).
  • Usage Data: Features used, generation counts, study activity (flashcard reviews, quiz attempts), and study streaks.
  • IP Address: Collected when you use the app for security, abuse prevention, and session management.
  • Authentication Data: Firebase authentication tokens for secure account management.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide AI-generated study content (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, study plans)
  • Power the AI Chat Tutor feature
  • Sync your study data across devices (for registered users)
  • Track study progress and provide analytics
  • Manage subscriptions and billing via Google Play
  • Enforce usage quotas and prevent abuse
  • Improve our service and fix issues

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Study content is stored locally on your device in encrypted local storage.
  • For registered users, study data is backed up to our secure servers (Railway, PostgreSQL).
  • Authentication tokens are stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences.
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS.
  • AI processing is performed via DeepSeek API with secure connections.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and user management. Google's Privacy Policy applies.
  • DeepSeek API: AI content generation. Your study content is sent for processing only.
  • Google Play Billing: Subscription management. Google's Privacy Policy applies.
  • Google ML Kit: On-device OCR for text extraction from images (processed locally, no data sent).
  • Resend: Sends branded verification emails for email sign-up. Your email is used only for verification.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Anonymous user data is automatically cleaned up after 90 days of inactivity.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: View your data in the app's Profile and Progress screens.
  • Delete: Delete your account and all data from the Profile screen.
  • Export: Export flashcards and study sets as CSV files.
  • Correct: Edit your profile information at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
